Research Interests

I am broadly interested in complex trait evolution, developmental patterning and vertebrate morphology. I take an integrative approach to answer biological questions, using genetic tools, as well as staining and microscopy techniques.

For my PhD work with Josh Gross at UC, I studied the evolution of craniofacial features in blind cavefish. While this work largely centered on cartilage and bone within the skull, I also looked at tastebuds, sensory neuromast organs, teeth and pigmentation cells.

In July 2018, I will begin my postdoctoral work in Cliff Tabin's lab at Harvard Medical School. There, I will investigate cellular and genetic mechanisms underlying limb development.
